Tornadoes In Canada’s Capital, Ottawa? Yes Indeed!
We’re finally back in the studio after a brief but very eventful vacation in the capital city of Canada, Ottawa.
Ottawa is over 3500 km away from Vancouver (2200 miles) and is a 5-6 hour flight depending on conditions and all that other stuff. Cat and I have never been to Ottawa though I did stop by briefly when I was on a family trip from Vancouver to Boston two decades ago.
A total of six tornadoes touched down in and around Ottawa the day we arrived. Unfortunately a power station was completely destroyed and huge parts of the city we were planning to see had no power for almost the entire time we were there. Tornadoes are very, very rare in Canada especially in this part of the country. They typically appear in the prairie provinces so it was unexpected to say the least. Downtown was largely unaffected so we at least were able to enjoy our time there despite the power outages.
I have to say it’s good to be back after all that excitement! Cat and I still glad we got a chance to have some time off. It’s been a couple of years since we took a vacation or had any sort of break from all the hustle and bustle.
An October Wedding To Remember
September was a very busy month and was capped off by some wonderfully unique orders!
Our first order was for some very lucky groomsmen: a set of 40% and 60% sleeves plus TKL Carry Cases and, for the first time ever, Full Size Carry Cases! The groom wanted us to personalize each one for his groomsmen who were also to receive keyboards along with their sleeves and cases. I wish I was one of the lucky recipients!
The order covers a diverse set of keebs in various sizes: a 40% Vortex CORE, a couple of 60% Royal Kludge RK61s, full sized and TKL variants of CoolerMaster’s MasterKeys keyboards and even a Unicomp Ultra Classic!
Hope your groomsmen love your sleeves and cases J. Congratulations and all the best!
And if you haven’t already guessed from reading all that, yes, we now make full size carry cases! If you’d like one for yourself (or your wedding party!) contact us for a custom order!
Orange Is The New Black. And Goes Well With Grey!
We had a lot of all-black custom orders this past summer and this month, being October, it seems Orange is the new black!
Obviously with Halloween around the corner and pumpkin in everything from coffees and lattes these days, it’s no surprise that it’s a popular color! My very own 65% sleeve is a Charcoal Grey with an Orange Bottom trim. I love the bright contrast and the splash of color it adds. Now if I only someone can design a set of Topre HiPro keycap set in Carbon for me…
